The Assam Board refers to two major educational authorities in the state: the Board of Secondary Education, Assam (SEBA) and the Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC). Together, they regulate and manage the academic structure, syllabus, examinations, and evaluation processes for Class 10 and Class 12 students across Assam. SEBA, established in 1962, is responsible for conducting the High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) examination for Class 10.
