1. What was the difference in the scene that Omana saw from the train on the first day and on the second day?

Ans: From the window on the first day, Omana saw fields, small villages, etc however, on the second day, she saw verdant fields, red soil, and hills covered in trees.

2. Omana saw many kinds of vehicles at the level-crossing. Which of them run on diesel or petrol?

Ans: Diesel is used in buses and trucks, while petrol is used in cars, motorcycles, and scooters.

3. Why was there so much smoke and noise from the vehicles at the level crossing?

Ans: There was a lot of smoke and noise from the vehicles because people were pushing their horns haphazardly. The engines of the vehicles were not turned off, so there was a lot of smoke.

4. What can we do to reduce noise of the vehicle and save petrol and diesel? Discuss.

Ans: Vehicles should come with silencers that help in cutting down the noises. Also, we should encourage cycling and walking for small distances. Using electric vehicles will also help in reducing noise pollution from the environment as well as saving petrol and diesel.

1. Have you seen any bridges? Where?

Ans: Yes, I have seen bridges in many places, including while traveling by train, near my home, and on the way to school.

2. Have you ever crossed a bridge? Where?

Ans: Yes, near my hometown.

3. What was the bridge built over?

Ans: Bridges are built over rivers, roads, railways, valleys, and oceans. They allow people and vehicles to cross from one side to the other.

4. What did you see below the bridge?

Ans: I noticed the river water and some boats below the bridge.

5. Find out why bridges are made.

Ans: The bridges are constructed for our benefit. Trains and other vehicles may easily cross through the river.

6. Have you ever been through a tunnel? How did you feel?

Ans: Yes. I am enjoying going through the tunnels. 

7. The route from Goa to Kerala has a total of 2000 bridges and 92 tunnels! Why do you think there are so many bridges and tunnels?

Ans: The route from Goa to Kerala the train has to pass through the sea coast, many water bodies and hills. So, to cross them there are so many bridges and tunnels.

8. Imagine and draw in your notebook what Omana saw under the bridge when her train crossed it?

Ans: Omana saw water under the bridge. There were some boats and fishermen also.

9. Imagine, if on the way there had been no tunnels and bridges, how would Omana’s train have crossed the mountains and rivers?

Ans: Omana’s train would not have crossed the mountains and rivers if there had been no tunnels or bridges along the way.

10. Which languages do you speak at home?

Ans: My Mother tongue, Hindi and English.

11. On the way from Gujarat to Kerala Omana’s train went through several states of our country. Find out and list which states it crossed.

Ans: The states that Omana’s train crossed on its way from Gujarat to Kerala are Maharashtra, Goa, and Karnataka.

12. Did you ever had coconut water? How did you find it? Discuss.

Ans: Yes, Coconuts are available with local vendors who sell them on carts.

13. Draw a coconut tree and discuss it in the class.

Ans: 

Coconut trees are tall and require a lot of sunlight and regular rainfalls. Coconut is a very popular and often consumed fruit.
