1. Find out how much money you spend in one year for various school related things.

Ans: Yes, a maid used to clean my house; her kid wanted to go to school but couldn’t since his mother is sick, so he had to work to make ends meet.

2. Every child has a right to free education upto Class VIII. Do you think that all children are able to study up to Class VIII? Discuss.

Ans: Education is a basic human right. It helps us ensure equality and raise the level of poverty. Every child should be educated because, with education, the country develops and grows.

3. Have you seen any insects near flowers? Find out their names and write.

Ans: Bee, Butterfly, Ant, Beetle, Wasp, Dragonfly and Hoverfly.

Ans: Given that the cost of one box is ₹2000, the total cost for 20 boxes is:

Total cost = 2000 × 20

Total cost = 2000 × 20 = 40,000

Total cost of Anita’s 20 boxes = ₹40,000

1. Anita and others in her village get Rs.35 for one kilogram of honey. How much does one kilogram of honey cost in your town?

Ans: One kilogram of honey cost in my town is Rs.320.

2. What are the different colours of honey that you have seen?

Ans: Golden yellow, dark brown, light amber, reddish brown etc.

Ans: Yes, Honey is used as a natural sweetener in food, medicine for coughs and wounds, and skincare products. It also helps in weight management and provides quick energy.

Ans: Other insects that live together, like honeybees, are ants, wasps and termites.

5. Have you seen where ants live?

Ans: Ants live in nests consisting of pebbles, soil particles, and other materials that are either underground or above ground.

6. What kind of eatables attract ants? List them.

Ans: Sugar, small tortilla pieces, dead insects etc. eatables attract ants.

7. Look at a line of ants. What is its colour?

Ans: They are of black, brown or red colour.

8. Have you been bitten by an ant? What was the ant like – black or red, big or small?

Ans: Yes, I have been bitten by an ant. The ant was red and small.

9. Do ants ever come near you? When?

Ans: Yes, they do come near me when sugar, sweets or other eatables are lying around me.

10. Look carefully at some big and small ants. How many legs does an ant have?
