1. Omana travelled by different kinds of transport after she got down from the train. Can you remember what these were?

Ans: Once Omana reached the Kottayam railway station, she took an auto-rickshaw to go to Valiyamma’s place. Then she took a bus to travel to the river. Finally, she took a ferry to go to her grandmother’s house.

2. On which vehicles have you travelled?

Ans: I had travelled in many vehicles like car, bus, train etc.

3. Which ride did you enjoy the most? Why?

Ans: I like train journeys because I can enjoy various mesmerized views through the window.

4. Omana left Ahmedabad on 16 May. How many hours did it take for her to reach Ammumma’s place?

Ans: It took her approximately 36 hours to get to Ammumma’s place.

5. Have you ever been on a long journey? Where did you go?

Ans: Yes, I went to my grandmother. I went to Rajasthan.

Ans: Yes, I have been on a long journey.

Ans: My journey took 72 hours.

6. Omana’s Appa bought tickets for the train and the bus. Can you think of other means of transport for which we need to buy tickets?

Ans: There are many vehicles for which people have to buy a ticket a train, a bus, a streamer, a boat, an airplane, and metro rail. 

7. Sometimes we need to buy tickets to enter a place. Can you think of such places?

Ans: There are several places like movie theaters, riding and playing games in festivals/carnivals, museums, orchestra hall, amusement park, water park, railway stations,airports and ships for trips where we have to buy tickets to enter such places.

8. Look at this picture of a railway ticket. Find the following information on the ticket and circle them with different colours and discuss.

(a) The train number.
