1. Do you study in a boarding school? If you do not, try to talk with someone who goes to a boarding school and find out –
(a) In what ways is boarding school different from other schools?
Ans: In a boarding school, students stay on campus and live in hostels, unlike regular schools where students go home after classes. Boarding schools have fixed schedules for study, meals, and activities, and students learn to be more independent.
(b) What kind of food do they get there?
Ans: Boarding school students get a variety of food, including rice, chapati, dal, vegetables, eggs, milk, and sometimes sweets. The menu is planned to provide balanced nutrition.
(c) Where do the children sit and eat in the boarding school?
Ans: Children usually sit and eat in a common dining hall where meals are served at fixed times.
(d) Who cooks food for the children in the boarding school? Who serves the food?
Ans: Food is cooked by school chefs and kitchen staff, and it is served by staff members or sometimes by students in a self-service system.

Ans: The kitchen staff washes the utensils. Sometimes they have to wash their utensils on their own.
(f) Do the children miss home-made food sometimes?
Ans: Yes.
(g) Would you like to go to a boarding school? Why?
Ans: Yes, though it is a difficult decision, boarding schools provide a structured learning environment and a supportive community.
