Ans: The magnetic strength of a bar magnet is the strongest at its poles (North and South) and the weakest at the center. Therefore, the iron powder will accumulate more at the poles and the least at the center.
7. The poles of a bar magnet are not marked. How do you find out its north pole?
Ans: To find the North pole of an unmarked bar magnet, suspend it freely using a thread so it can rotate without obstruction. After settling, the end that points towards the geographic North is the magnet’s North pole. This happens because a freely suspended magnet always aligns itself in the North-South direction due to the Earth’s magnetic field.

Ans: No, we cannot get a magnet with a unit pole. Every magnet always has both a north and a south pole, even if it is broken.

Ans: The two properties of magnet are:

Ans: Sprinkle iron filings on the magnet. The filings cluster more at the poles. Alternatively, use a compass near each pole to detect the north and south poles.
