3. Write what the boy did in God’s house. What have you learnt from the story? ল’ৰাটোৱে ঈশ্বৰৰ ঘৰত কি কৰিলে লিখা? গল্পটোৰ পৰা তুমি কি বুজিলা?

Ans: In God’s house the boy saw the most beautiful Christmas tree. He ate delicious food and wore beautiful and warm dresses.He played with other little boys and girls, saw dolls all around. He was happy.

From the story, I have learnt that God is always with the ill fated Children. Also I have learnt that we should always love the poor little children, they are God’s Children.

4. Study the following sentence carefully.

 i) If I can enter the hall, I will get something to eat.

ii) If my parents were rich like theirs, I might have such beautiful dresses to wear and delicious food to eat. 

ওপৰোক্ত বাক্যকেইটাত বক্তাই কিছুমান কাল্পনিক অৱস্থাৰ কথা কৈছে।

এনেকুৱা বাক্যক ইংৰাজী ব্যাকৰণত conditionals বোলা হয়। 

ইয়াত সাধাৰণতে তিনিবিধ conditionals আছে।

1. Open condition – খোলা অৱস্থা।

2. Improbable or imaginary condition সম্ভাৱনাহীন বা কাল্পনিক অৱস্থা।

3. Unfulfilled condition অসম্পূর্ণ বা অপূর্ণ অৱস্থা।

কিতাপৰ উদাহৰণবোৰ ভালদৰে চোৱা।

Imagine the situation and fill in the blanks with appropriate clause.

এটা অৱস্থা কল্পনা কৰি Opp. clause ৰ সহায়ত উক্ত বাক্যকেইটাৰ খালী ঠাই পূৰণ কৰা :

i) If you tell a lie you will get a bad name.

ii) If I were a fish I would swim in the sea happily. 

iii) If it had not rained I would have played outside.

iv) If I had gone there I would have seen the star. 

v) If you found a golden bird you would hold an exhibition to show it to others.

5. Study the following sentence from the lesson 

উক্ত বাক্যকেইটা পঢ়া :

a) He was hungry too (‘be’ verb + adjective) 

b) The roadside shops are full of colourful dresses (adj. + noun) 

c) He felt lonely and helpless (look / feel / smell / taste / sound + adjective)

ওপৰোক্ত italics (আচপৰা) শব্দবোৰে বাক্যকেইটাৰ noun বোৰৰ অৰ্থপূৰ্ণ ভাৱ বুজাইছে। এইবিলাকেই হৈছে adjectives. 

Adjective, noun ৰ লগত ব্যৱহাৰ হৈ ইয়াৰ অৰ্থত কিবা এটা যোগ কৰে।

Read the following passage carefully and find out the adjectives. 

Rahul is an early riser. He wakes at five before all other family members. He begins the day with a long walk. On his return, he drinks a large mugful of tea with a little sugar and no milk. He then has a good shower, brushes his teeth and gets ready for study. Rahul helps his mother in preparing nice breakfast.

He is always ready for the schoolbus before time. He is a very intelligent student. All the teachers of his school like him very much. Rahul helps his parents in doing many household tasks. His parents feel proud of him. 

6. Study the following:

শব্দকেইটা ভালদৰে পঢ়া। কিছুমান italics শব্দ। এই শব্দবিলাকে adjective আৰু এটা verb ক modify (সালসলনি কৰি অর্থ বুজায়) কৰে। এইবিলাক adverb । ই আন এটা adverb ৰো ভিন্ন অৰ্থ বুজায়।

It was bitterly cold. He was dressed raggedly. He saw beautifully decorated. Christmas tree in God’s house. The children were playing joyfully

এই italics শব্দবোৰে ‘How?’ (কেনেকৈ) উত্তৰ দিয়ে। 

উদাহৰণ―

How cold was it? – bitterly cold (উত্তৰ) How was he 

dressed? – raggedly dressed (উত্তৰ) 

এই adverb বোৰ কিছুমান adjectives ত ‘ly’ যোগ কৰি গঠন কৰা হৈছে।

এনেদৰে ―

bitter (adj.)+’ly’-bitterly 

ragged (adj.)+’ly’ – raggedly

joyful (adj.) + ‘ly’ – joyfully.

উদাহৰণ স্বৰূপে — 

i) merry (adj) + ‘ly’ – merrily

Rita danced merrily in the function. 

ii) Elegant (adj.) + ‘ly’ – elegantly

Her dress was elegantly gorgeous.

7. In the lesson

পাঠটোত কিছুমান phrase ৱে বাক্য শাৰীৰ সৌন্দৰ্য্য বৃদ্ধি কৰিছে।

a) He came out in search of food. 

b) All of a sudden he could hear a voice.

আমি এই phrase বিলাক কিছুমান সহজ শব্দৰে সাল-সলনি কৰিব পাৰো। যেনে— 

a) He came out searching food.

b) Unexpectedly he could hear a voice.

‘In search of’, ‘All of a sudden’ কিছুমান idioms.

Idiom এটা phrase (এটাতকৈ অধিক শব্দ অর্থ থকা) বা এটা বাক্য যাৰ অৰ্থ ইয়াত থকা ভিন ভিন শব্দৰ অৰ্থৰ পৰা বুজা নাযায় আৰু ইয়াক এটা সম্পূৰ্ণ সমষ্টি হিচাবে পঢ়িব লাগে।

Dictionary ৰ পাঁচটা idioms―

i) ABC- elementary knowledge প্রাথমিক জ্ঞান। 

ABC of any learning is not enough for complete knowledge.

ii) Ups and downs ― failure and success অসফল আৰু সফল; জয় আৰু পৰাজয় ৷

Everyone sees ups and downs in life.

iii) To make use of ― to employ সদ ব্যৱহাৰ, নিয়োজিত

We make use of this globe in our geography class. 

iv) Make sure ― be certain নিশ্চয় কৰা।

Make sure that this letter is sent before Monday. 

v) To smell a rat – have suspicion সন্দেহৰ উৱাদিহ

I smell a rat in his mysterious proposal. 

8. Make Sentences –

i) In high spirit – Players should be confident and always in high spirit.

গছ গছনি বা বন আৰু বন্যপ্ৰাণী সংৰক্ষণ আৰু ৰক্ষা কৰিবলৈ তুমি জিলা বন বিষয়া হলে কি কৰিবা কোৱা―

If I were the District Forest Officer I will do my best to protect and preserve our forests and the wildlife. To start operation in my authorized area I will first try to motivate my colleagues and all the officials in this responsible job. Then I will hold meetings in different areas to make the people aware and alert about the impact of Forest life upon the human world. I will put official banners urging the people to save forest and wildlife. I will also ask the local schools and colleges to spread this message to the mass students by various modes-drama, painting, science etc. Also I will encourage by giving official awards to the concerned individuals or organizations. I will directly deploy security personnel’s in the restricted areas and will take effective measures to stop and catch the illegal poachers. Planting trees, medical assistance needed for the wild life, steps to preserve the floras and faunas all these will be my prior duties to carry on as the DFO.
