Activity – 3: Is AI Creative?

What will your story be about? Write the idea of your story in a single sentence below:

Ans: I went to a mela during the festival season, where the air was filled with the excitement of people, vibrant colors of the stalls, and delicious food all around, making it a truly unforgettable experience.

Write about everything that made the visit special for you. Describe what you saw (e.g., colours, interesting things to eat, shops with exciting games), what you heard (e.g., music, games, laughter), about the food and drink you had, and how you felt (e.g., excitement, heat, or wind). Then ask AI to create a similar story using your story idea as a prompt.

Ans: The mela was an explosion of colors and sounds. Everywhere I looked, there were bright decorations—red, yellow, and green—the colors of festivity. The air was buzzing with the sound of people talking, laughing, and the cheerful melodies of folk music playing from every corner. Children ran around, trying to catch balloons, while others queued up for exciting rides and games. The aroma of freshly made snacks like jalebi, bhatura, and chaat wafted through the air, making my stomach rumble with hunger. I enjoyed a steaming hot cup of masala chai while watching people dancing to the beats of dhol. The heat of the afternoon sun was softened by the occasional breeze, and the feeling of joy was everywhere. The mela brought everyone together in a celebration of life, and the excitement was infectious.

Compare your story with the AI version. Was AI’s story different from yours? Yes/No

Ans: The mela was a festival of colors and sounds, with vibrant stalls offering everything from toys to tasty treats. Music played joyously as people roamed through the maze of games and food vendors. I could smell the sweetness of cotton candy, and the spiciness of sizzling street food. Laughter and chatter filled the air, as families enjoyed time together. I sipped on some refreshing lemonade to cool off from the heat, while the warm sun shone brightly over the festivities. There was a sense of happiness everywhere, and I couldn’t help but smile at the beauty of the celebration.

1. What details were similar and different between the story you had written, and the one AI had written?

Ans: Comparison of Stories:

Similarities:

(i) Both stories describe the mela as vibrant and full of colors and sounds.

(ii) Both mention the excitement of the people and the joy in the atmosphere.

(iii) Both stories highlight food and drink, such as chai and snacks in my version, and lemonade and street food in the AI version.

Differences:

(i) My story focuses more on the specific emotions I felt, like excitement and the occasional breeze, while the AI story is more general.

(ii) The AI version mentions cotton candy, which I did not describe, and omits the detail of rides and games that were present in my story.

(iii) The AI version doesn’t describe the specific cultural context, such as folk music or dancing.

2. What parts of the story written by AI did you like and why?

Ans: I liked the simplicity and the lightness of the AI-generated story. It captured the overall mood of the mela, making it feel warm and cheerful, which added to the festive spirit. The mention of lemonade gave it a refreshing vibe that I think would resonate with anyone who has experienced a summer festival.

Now, let us learn how AI can help to make your story better. Add more details to the prompt you had originally given an AI. Think of what you would have liked the AI to add to the story.

1. Write the new prompt in the space below:

Ans: Prompt: Write a story about my visit to a mela during the festival season. Describe the colorful decorations, folk music, fun games, exciting rides, and the delicious food stalls. Include how the crowd looked, what the children were doing, and what sounds and smells filled the air. Also, describe how I felt during the visit—happy, amazed, and excited.

2. What is the difference between the story AI had written by itself and the one it wrote with your help? Do you think it is better than the previous one?

Yes/No ………………………. If not, improve the prompt and try again.

Ans: Yes. The new story is better because I gave the AI more details about what I wanted. With my help, it added richer descriptions, emotions, and specific moments that made the story more lively and personal. The first AI story was good, but this one feels more connected to my real experience.

Activity – 4: Preparing to Design Own AI Assistant

Activity – 9: Sharing with Others

1. How many people used the AI Assistant and gave you feedback?

Ans: Five classmates and two teachers used the AI Assistant. Three family members at home also tested it. In total, about 10 people gave feedback.

2. What is one thing you would change about your project based on the feedback you received?

Ans: Based on the feedback, I would improve the assistant’s voice and animations to make it more engaging. I would also add more local stories and fun facts, as people wanted more local content. Additionally, I would make the questions shorter and simpler so younger users can understand easily.

What did I learn from others?

1. Describe any three things you learnt about your locality during this project.

Ans: (i) I learnt that our local river has rare fish species that are part of our wildlife heritage.

(ii) I discovered that there’s an old historical site nearby that most people don’t know about.

(iii) I found out about a local festival that celebrates traditional crafts and dances.

2. Describe the most important things you learnt from your friends about making an AI Assistant while doing the project.

Ans: (i) I learnt that giving the assistant a clear, friendly personality makes people want to interact more.

(ii) I learnt how important it is to test the assistant with real users to catch small mistakes.

(iii) I learnt that adding animations and characters makes the assistant feel more alive and fun.

Think and Answer

1. What did you enjoy doing?

Ans: I enjoyed planning the project steps, working hands-on with the tasks, and seeing the progress come together successfully.

2. What were the challenges you faced?

Ans: I faced challenges in estimating the right amount of time for each step, managing the needed resources, and coordinating with others involved.

3. What will you do differently next time?

Ans: Next time, I will prepare a more detailed plan in advance, make a clearer list of required resources, and build in extra time for unexpected delays.

4. Flowchart (Putting it all together).

To complete your project, you followed a series of planned steps. Before starting any project, it is useful to estimate the time and resources needed to complete the task (devices, camera, people required to do the work, and anything else you think is important). This will help you complete the task as planned in a timely manner. It is also useful for anyone else who wants to help you with the task. Similarly, when you work with machines, it is necessary to make a detailed list of instructions for getting the work done through the machine. Therefore, programmers write down the detailed instructions systematically— this is called an ‘algorithm’.

Ans:

Figure 4.13 gives the steps you followed. Fill in the empty spaces to indicate what you did in the project— this is the algorithm for your project.

(i) What do I want to do?

(a) Aisha identified types of fruits and bird sound.

(b) What do you want the AI assistant to do?

Ans: I want the AI assistant to recognize different types of fruits and classify bird sounds accurately.

(ii) How will I create the classification tree?

(a) Mango into 5 categories and ………… sub-categories and Guava into ………… categories ………… sub-categories

(b) What are the categories of data you will train the AI assistant to recognise?

Ans: Categories: types of fruits (mango, guava, apple, banana), ripeness stage, size, color.

Bird sounds: species, pitch, duration, region.

(iii) How will I collect and organise data?

Ans: I will collect images of fruits from online sources or take pictures myself; for bird sounds, I will record audio or use available sound libraries. I will label the data carefully into folders by type and category.

(iv) How will I train the model?

Ans: I will upload the labeled data to an AI tool (like Teachable Machine or Scratch AI), set up the categories, and train the model using the provided interface until it can make predictions.

(v) Testing the model.

Ans: I will test the model by giving it new fruit images or bird sounds it has not seen before and check if it predicts correctly.

(vi) Sharing the model.

Ans: I will share the trained model by exporting it as a web link or embedding it into a small app or website to show others.

5. Identify a few examples of jobs related to the work you just did. For example, data scientist, machine learning assistant, software engineer, robotics engineer, research scientist. Look around, speak to people and write your answer.

Ans: (i) Data Scientist.

(ii) Machine Learning Engineer.

(iii) Software Engineer.

(iv) Robotics Engineer.

(v) Research Scientist.
