Ranjit: Oh my god! I see my poem hear! Mam must have sent it to the newspaper. I never thought I could find my name in a newspaper some day. Look! the title of my poem is “Busy Bee”.

Mili: Ou! yeah poem? Let me recite it.

অসমীয়া ভাবানুবাদ : ৰঞ্জিত : হে ভগবান! মোৰ কবিতাটো ইয়াত দেখা পাইছো! বাইদেওৱে নিশ্চয় এইটো বাতৰি কাকতলৈ পঠাইছে। মই কেতিয়াও মোৰ নামটো বাতৰি কাকতত ওলাব বুলি ভবা নাছিলো। চোৱা! মোৰ কবিতাৰ নাম “ব্যস্ত মৌমাখি”।

Busy Bee

I ran to the garden

to catch a busy bee,

‘It’ll sting’, said mother

Let it fly free.

It moves very gently

It make a lovely sound, 

How can such a lovely thing 

Sting me when I’m around?

মই বাগিছালৈ দৌৰি গৈছিলো

এটা ব্যস্ত মৌমাখি ধৰিবলৈ

মাই কৈছিল ‘ই বিন্ধিব’

ইয়াক দিয়া উৰিবলৈ মুক্ত মনে।

ই বৰ ধুনীয়াকৈ উৰে

ই এটা ধুনীয়া শব্দ কৰে,

Mili: That’s really a good poem. I’ll also try to write one today. Some of my drawings and paintings were published in our school magazine. Did you know that?

অসমীয়া ভাবানুবাদ : মিলি: এইটো সঁচাই এটা ভাল কবিতা। ময়ো আজি এটা কবিতা লিখিবলৈ চেষ্টা কৰিম । মোৰ কেইখনমান ছবি আমাৰ স্কুলৰ আলোচনীত প্ৰকাশ পাইছে। তুমি সেইটো জানানে?

Ranjit : You are lucky! You didn’t tell me that before. Can I see them now?

Mili: Sure. (Mili runs to her room. She comes back with a few of here drawings and shows them to Ranjit.)

One evening, Nasiruddin Mullah was sleeping. His wife in the kitchen. Suddenly his wife heard a big sound, “What’s that?’ She said, “It’s my shirt”, Mullah said. “Can the shirt make such a big sound?”, the wife asked. “Oh! I was inside it”, Mullah replied.

অসমীয়া ভাবানুবাদঃ এদিন গধুলিপৰত নাছিৰুদ্দিন মোল্লা শুই আছিল। তেওঁৰ ঘৈণীয়েক পাকঘৰত আছিল। হঠাৎ তেওঁৰ ঘৈণীয়েকে এটা ডাঙৰ শব্দ শুনা পালে। তেওঁ ক’লে, “এইটো কি?” মোল্লাই ক’লে, “এইটো মোৰ চোলা।” ঘৈণীয়েকে সুধিলে, “চোলাটোৱে এনে এটা ডাঙৰ শব্দ কৰিব পাৰেনে?”“ও! চোলাটোৰ ভিতৰত মই আছিলো”, মোল্লাই উত্তৰ দিলে।
