Ans: Respected Teacher and my dear friends, I want to share my thoughts on how we can keep our locality clean. As a true citizen (responsible) it is our duty to look after our locality.

First we should start from our home and keep our surrounding neat and clean. Proper drainage system and dustbins are a must. We should also plant trees in our garden to check pollution.

Then to keep our entire area clean, we should at first try to make its residents alert and aware by holding some meetings. Proper use of public dustbins, public toilets and ban of plastic bags should be imposed.

Thank you.

পাঠটোৰ শেষত আমি Gerund, Present Participle আৰু to infinitive ৰ বিষয়ে শিকো আহা।

The Gerund: It is that form of the verb which ends in ing, and has the force of a Noun and a verb.

a. Beating will not do good.

b. Girls like buying dress.

In the sentence ‘a’ the word beating is formed from the verb beat, by adding ing. Here it is also used as a Noun, being the subject of a verb. It is thus a Verb Noun and is called a Gerund.

Examples: 1. Serving the family was his preoccupation.

2. She enjoys talking to friends.

3. Ramesh is fond of travelling.

Here, ইয়াত Sentence, (1) Gerund টো Noun, ৰ দৰে Verb ৰ subject হৈছে Verb ৰ দৰে এটা object ও লৈছে sentence, (2) Gerund Noun দৰে, Verb ৰ object হৈছে, ইয়ে object লৈছে verb ৰ দৰে verb ৰ force আছে। Sentence 3, Gerund টো Noun ৰ দৰে  Preposition ৰ সহায় লৈছে, Verb ৰ দৰে, এটা object লৈছে।

Present Participle

Listening the song, the girl danced. The ইয়াত listening শব্দটোৱে noun girl ক qualify কৰে এটা objective ৰ দৰে। ই listen verb ৰ পৰা হৈছে আৰু এটা object লৈছে। Listening শব্দটোয়ে verb আৰু Adjective দুইটাৰ অৱস্থা লৈছে আৰু ইয়াকে Participle বোলা হয়। ইয়াক Verbal adjective ও বোলে।

যেনেদৰে ইয়াত : 1. Swimming is not difficult to learn.

2. Children like playing hide and seek.

3. Driving cars requires great skill.

এইবিলাক Present Participle – ing ত শেষ হৈছে এটা ঘটনা যিটো চলি আছে বা সম্পূৰ্ণ হোৱা নাই।

Thus Present Participle ends in ing and represents an action as going on or incomplete or imperfect.

To infinitive

Examples: I want to eat

He tried to do this work.

এই ‘to eat’, ‘to do’ গঠণবোৰক ‘infinitives’ বোলে। infinitives বোৰ verb ৰ মূল ভেটি, সাধাৰণতে ‘to’ ৰ সৈতে লিখা যায়।

1. I have some work to do before I go out.

2. There are many places in India to visit.

3. He made me do this

4. She will not let anyone play with her toys.

‘To’ ৰ ব্যৱহাৰ কোনো ক্ষেত্ৰত নহয়, যেনে কিছুমান Verb ৰ পাছত, উদাহৰণ স্বৰূপে : bid, let, make need, see etc. আমি ওপৰত দেখা বাক্যকেইটাৰ দৰে।
