Reynard the Fox, walking by, noticed the tasty treat and immediately thought of a way to get it for himself. Being a cunning trickster, he decided to use flattery to his advantage.

Looking up at Mr. Raven, the fox said in a sweet and admiring voice, “My dear Sir Raven, you are truly the most handsome bird in the entire forest! Just look at your glossy black feathers so regal and magnificent. If only you could sing as beautifully as you look, you would surely be crowned the king of all birds!”

Mr. Raven, filled with pride, forgot the nature of his own voice. Wanting to prove his singing ability, he opened his beak to croak a tune—only to let the delicious morsel fall straight down! Reynard, ready and waiting, leaped forward to snatch it up.

But just as the fox was about to swallow the food, Mr. Raven quickly flapped his wings and swooped down, snatching the morsel back before it could be eaten. He perched himself on another branch and let out a deep chuckle.

“Well, well, Reynard,” said Mr. Raven, “you may be clever, but I have learned my lesson. Flattery will not fool me again!”

Reynard, realizing that his usual trick had failed, smiled and said, “Fair enough, Mr. Raven. You have proven that wisdom is greater than pride. I suppose I’ll have to find my dinner elsewhere today.”

And with that, the fox trotted away, leaving the raven to enjoy his well-earned meal.

Ans: Hey there, neighbor You won’t believe what happened last night. My wife and I were getting ready for bed when we heard a strange noise. She whispered to me to be quiet and listen, and we both froze, pretending to sleep. Sure enough, someone was trying to break into our house!

I came up with a plan and whispered it to my wife. We started talking loudly about what to name our future child, throwing around names like “Rama”. The thief thought we were just chatting, but really, we were trying to alert Rama, our village Kotwal.

We kept mentioning “Rama” in different scenarios, hoping the Kotwal would hear us. And it worked! He showed up just in time to catch the thief red-handed. It was a close call, but thanks to our quick thinking, our home and valuables are safe.

My wife and I are still shaking our heads in disbelief, but we’re also feeling proud of ourselves for outsmarting the thief.
