Good morning dear teachers, students and all members of Model High School. Today I am going to talk about “The Art of Listening’. I hope my speech will be meaningful and engaging.
In a world full of noise and distractions, genuine listening has become rare. It requires patience, focus, and empathy. When we listen with attention, we not only understand what is being said but also what is left unsaid- the emotions, fears, and hopes behind the words.
Listening is more than just hearing words – it is a powerful skill that allows us to truly connect with others. Let us know the difference between hearing and listening. Hearing is when our ears notice a sound. For example, we hear birds chirping or a car blowing the horn. Whereas listening is when we pay attention to the sound and try to understand it. It’s just like we listen to our teacher explaining a lesson.
Good listeners do not interrupt or judge. They give the speaker space to express. knowing that every person wants to be heard and valued. Whether in friendship, families, or classrooms, good listening builds trust and strengthens relationships. It shows respect and makes people feel understood.
Mastering the art of listening can lead to better communication, deeper it is a gift we can offer to relationships, and a kinder world. It is not just a skill everyone around us.
