Kawasaki Z300 Price in India, Launch Date, Specs and Bookings

Kawasaki has finally added a small naked bike to its Z range in India. The new Kawasaki Z300 was shown at an event in Bangalore. It is now the most affordable way to get into a Z-badged motorcycle, a family that currently starts with much bigger and more expensive machines.

Here is everything we know so far, what is still unconfirmed, and whether it makes sense against the KTM 390 Duke and TVS Apache RTR 310.

Kawasaki Z300 launch date and bookings

The key dates:

  • Bookings open: 19 October 2026
  • Price, variants and full specs: 20 October 2026, on Kawasaki India’s official website

Kawasaki hasn’t announced a booking amount yet. Kawasaki dealers often take informal pre-bookings before the official date, so it’s worth calling your nearest showroom now if you want an early delivery slot.

Kawasaki Z300 expected price in India

Kawasaki hasn’t announced a price yet. Here’s how we think it will play out.

The Ninja 300, its fully faired sibling, is currently listed at about ₹3.34 lakh (ex-showroom) on Kawasaki’s website. A naked bike drops the fairing and windscreen, which usually lowers the price. On the other hand, the Z300 gets a TFT display with Bluetooth, which the Ninja 300 doesn’t have.

Our estimate: ₹2.95 lakh to ₹3.30 lakh (ex-showroom).

If Kawasaki keeps it under ₹3 lakh, the Z300 becomes a strong option in this segment. It would be the only twin-cylinder bike in a class full of single-cylinder engines. If it comes in close to Ninja 300 pricing, it will be a harder sell.

We’ll update this section as soon as the official price is out on 20 October.

Design: a smaller Z900

From the photos, the Z300 is clearly designed to look like the Z900. It has the same aggressive, forward-leaning stance that Kawasaki calls “Sugomi” design: a sharp LED headlight, a muscular tank with extensions, and a short, raised tail.

That is a smart choice for India. Many riders want the Z900 look but can’t afford a big bike, and the Z300 gives them that look at a much lower price.

Kawasaki Z300 engine and performance (expected)

Kawasaki hasn’t confirmed the engine yet. The most likely option is the 296cc parallel-twin, liquid-cooled engine from the Ninja 300. In the Ninja, it produces:

SpecNinja 300 (expected for Z300)
Engine296cc, parallel-twin, liquid-cooled
Power38.9 bhp @ 11,000 rpm
Torque26.1 Nm @ 10,000 rpm
Gearbox6-speed

These are Ninja 300 figures, not official Z300 numbers. Kawasaki could retune the engine for the naked bike, for example to give it more mid-range punch for city riding.

What a twin-cylinder means for you as a rider: it’s smoother, vibrates less at highway speeds, and likes to rev. The trade-off is that low-end grunt is weaker than on a big single like the 390 Duke’s. If you mostly ride in traffic, you’ll be shifting gears more often. On an open highway, though, the twin is much more relaxed.

Features

Confirmed so far:

  • TFT instrument cluster with smartphone connectivity

Likely, based on the Ninja 300 and Kawasaki’s global models:

  • Dual-channel ABS
  • Assist and slipper clutch
  • Full LED lighting

Expect the full feature list on launch day.

Choose the Z300 if refinement and long highway rides matter more to you than outright speed.
Choose the 390 Duke if you want the most performance for your money.
Choose the Apache RTR 310 if you want the most features at the lowest price.

Things to think about before booking

  • Service network: Kawasaki has fewer service centres in India than KTM or TVS. Check how far your nearest service centre is before you book, especially if you live in a Tier-2 or Tier-3 city.
  • Spare parts: Kawasaki parts usually cost more than parts for mass-market brands.
  • Wait for the price: Bookings open a day before the price is announced. If the booking amount is refundable, booking early is fine. If not, waiting one day costs you nothing.

Should you wait for the Kawasaki Z300?

If you have about ₹3 lakh and want a naked bike that feels refined rather than raw, yes. A twin-cylinder engine at this price is still rare in India. If you mainly ride in the city and want the most punch for your money, the 390 Duke is still the bike to beat, and price will decide whether the Z300 can take it on.
