Ans: For a wireman, it is important to be able to identify wires on the basis of colour. By looking at the wire colour, the person can identify the phase, neutral and earth wires. Therefore, the wireman needs to understand the colour coding of wires. Colour coding of a wire represents the purpose for which it is to be used.
In India, generally, the following colour code is used:
(i) Red, yellow and blue for three phases.
(ii) Black for neutral.

Ans: The bend radius refers to the minimum radius at which a cable can be bent without causing any kink or physical damage. A smaller bend radius indicates greater flexibility of the cable material. Maintaining the proper bend radius is essential, especially when handling sensitive cables such as optical fibre cables, to prevent breakage or signal loss.
The bend radius is different for different types of cables. If the company does not tell us how much to bend, we should bend the cable in a round shape that is at least 15 times bigger than the cable’s thickness. This helps to keep the cable safe and working well for a long time.
