HS First Year Examination New Question Paper Pattern: It is for information to all the Head of the institutions under jurisdiction of Assam State School Education Board, Division-II that the question paper pattern for HS First Year Exam ination-2025 will be as per the following format for the following subjects. Accordingly, all the heads of the Institutions concerned are requested to notify their students regarding the new pattern which has been adopted for the greater interest of the student community.

Please note that OMR answer sheet will be used for Objective Type Question (Multiple Choice Question)

Further, all the institutions are advised to preferably use OMR answer sheets in other examinations of Class XI and Class XII conducted by them, wherever possible.

General Highlights:

Implementation Year: The new question paper pattern will be applicable for the HS First Year Examination 2025.

Purpose: Purpose of HS First Year Examination New Question Paper Pattern is to promote transparency and ensure a student-friendly evaluation system. The question papers will have an increased number of MCQs and more questions of competency level. Thus, there will be a lesser number of short and long answer questions as compared to the previous years’ exams.

Division of Questions: Equal emphasis on objective (MCQs) and descriptive sections across all streams.

OMR Answer Sheets: OMR (Optical Mark Recognition) answer sheets are used in exams to answer objective-type questions. It is typically made up of a grid of bubbles or checkboxes, with each row representing a question and each column representing a possible answer.

Major Change in question paper: In HS First Year Examination New Question Paper Pattern, the total theory marks are divided equally between objective-type questions (MCQs) and descriptive-type questions.
