(i) Water droplets appear on the surface of a water bottle if it is brought out from a refrigerator.

The cold surface cools the moisture (water vapor) present in the air around it, causing the vapor to condense into tiny water droplets on the bottle’s surface.

(ii) Water cycle does not occur without evaporation and condensation.

Ans: The factors that affect evaporation are:

(ii) Wind: Windy conditions help remove water vapor from the surface, making evaporation faster.

(iii) Humidity: When humidity is high, as on a rainy day, evaporation slows down because the air already contains a lot of water vapor.

(iv) Exposed surface area: More surface area exposed to air leads to faster evaporation.

10. Why do our hands feel cold when we apply hand sanitizer?

Ans: Hand sanitizer contains alcohol, which evaporates quickly when applied to the skin. During evaporation, the alcohol molecules absorb heat from the skin and surrounding air to change from liquid to gas.
