1. Appalachian Highlands.

Ans: The Appalachian Highlands are a mountain range in eastern North America, stretching from Quebec to Alabama. The Appalachians are some of the world’s oldest mountains. They are worn down by weathering and are much lower than the Western highlands. These areas have been mined for its rich deposits of coal and other minerals, which play a vital role in the economy of North America. The region is characterised by diverse topography, including long broad ridges, steep slopes, and deep gorges.

2. Central Plains.

Ans: The Central Plains are a vast region of flat arable land in the center of North America, stretching from Canada to Mexico. The states in this region include North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, Oklahoma, and Texas. This region is dominated by rolling plains, and contains some mountains, dry lands, wetlands, and border regions. The region is drained by several rivers and is home to extensive agricultural activity.

3. Rocky Mountains.

Ans: The Rocky Mountains are a mountain range in western North America, stretching from British Columbia to New Mexico.The Rocky Mountains contain the highest peaks in central North America. The range’s highest peak is Mount Elbert in Colorado at 4,401 metres (14,440 feet) above sea level.
