Seema Biswas was born in Nalbari, Assam in 14 January 1965. Her father’s name is Jagdish Biswas and mother’s name is Meera Biswas. After studying at Nalbari College, she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in political science from Nalbari College, Assam. She then joined the National School of Drama in New Delhi, where she studied dramatic arts.

Seema Biswas is one of the most popular actresses in Indian film industry. Born in Nalbari district of Assam, the artist later joined the National School of Drama in Delhi and took lessons in acting. Shekhar Kapur who watched her perform in the NSD Repertory Company offered her a role in “Bandit Queen.” The character “Phoolan Devi” played by her in Bandit Queen is still in the hearts of the audience.
