A. Answer the following questions. 

1. Who do you think is the speaker in the poem? 

Ans: The poet is the speaker in the poem. 

2. What does he/she hear? 

Ans: He/she hears a sudden cry of pain. 

3. What is the rabbit crying for? 

Ans: The rabbit is crying for aid. 

4. What makes the rabbit wrinkle it’s face? 

Ans: The rabbit was in pain and his pain makes it wrinkle it’s face. 

5. Is the poet able to locate the snare? 

Ans: No the poet is not able to locate the snare. 

6. What do you understand by the expression, ‘the frightened air? ‘

Ans: The rabbit is trapped and he is crying for help. His fear has made everything afraid and it is expressed by ‘the frightened air.’
